It was an incredible honor for Mbai Bassa California to join forces with the Poo’lah Association of Northern California to showcase the vibrant cultural richness of Cameroon at the annual City of Mountain House Multicultural Festival on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Organized by the City of Mountain House Parks and Recreation Department, the festival is a beloved, family-friendly event. It brings the entire community together for an afternoon and evening packed with global performances, authentic food, stunning art, interactive activities, and deep community connection.
Festival attendees were treated to a rich tapestry of global traditions, including:
- Live Cultural Performances: Traditional and contemporary music and dance representing heritage from across the globe.
- Global Cuisine: Diverse food vendors serving up authentic flavors inspired by international traditions.
- Cultural Marketplace: A vibrant market filled with art, crafts, and merchandise showcasing global creativity and heritage.
Standing proudly alongside various cultural organizations, the Poo’lah Association of Northern California and Mbai Bassa California delivered a captivating joint performance. Together, we brought the stage to life with the rhythmic elegance and powerful traditions of the Bamiléké and Bassa Bati Mpo’oo cultures of Cameroon.
Beyond the stage, the event served as a beautiful, informal gathering. It offered our members a wonderful opportunity to picnic together, strengthen our community bonds, and celebrate our shared brotherhood. The energy was so infectious that all participants left with a shared promise: to return to the festival next year in even greater numbers!
We extend our deepest appreciation and gratitude to the City of Mountain House for providing this platform and for their ongoing support in celebrating the rich diversity of our communities.
