With US immigration policies continually shifting, having reliable information is crucial.
To address this need, Afriicionado, alongside AWỌ, the Mbai Bassa Community, and the Law Office of Florence M. Ndedi, organized this community outreach and education event on immigration.
Immigration attorney Florence M. Ndedi shares general insights about the various branches of the U.S. immigration system, explains key recent developments affecting especially status adjustment and asylum procedures, and responds to attendees’ questions.
Florence M. Ndedi is a respected immigration lawyer based in Oakland, California, with almost twenty years of experience in U.S. immigration law. She has successfully assisted hundreds of clients nationwide and internationally, representing individuals from Africa, Europe, the Pacific Islands, Australia, Latin America, and Asia.
The event included a listening session during which attendees discussed their experiences, primary concerns, and increased anxiety stemming from the current emphasis on enforcement.
Participants were provided with several resources, including:
- Rapid Response Network Hotline: 408-290-1144
- Assistance for Medi-Cal enrollment: 408-221-3430
Further information about these and other resources is available on our partner AWO’s website.
We expressed our profound gratitude to Attorney Florence M. Ndedi, our partners AWO Afriicianado, The Bahai Center in San Jose, Karl for his technical assistance and all attendees for their contribution to the success of this event.
Together we are stronger and go farther.
