Additional Contextual Information

This project is Phase 1 of the Ndom Bilingual Middle School multi-media library pilot program. The goal of the program is to equip the school and surrounding communities with a state of the art library with internet access and the possibility to establish partnerships with schools in the USA. The next  phases are separate projects that will be carried out with partners. The pilot program includes the following phases:

  • Phase 1: Transformation of an old building to a modern building capable to host a state of the art multi-media school library.
  • Phase 2: Purchase and donation of books and training of a team of volunteers to manage the library.
  • Phase 3: Purchase of computers, software and internet access equipment.
  • Phase 4: Installation of solar panels to insure a reliable provision of electrical power to the library.
  • Phase 5: Parnerships with USA schools

If the pilot program is successful, it will be duplicated in other communities throughout the Grand Sanaga region of Cameroon.
